The head size still looks like a players club but it also provides just enough increase in the hitting area to provide a bit larger sweet spot as compared to the 906F4 series. The Diamana shaft is also a big improvement in my opinion as compared to the Alida shaft I used in F4 as well. The Alida (by you regular) while it provided very tight dispersion the Diamana feels a bit softer and ball flight is perfect and a bit longer. Don't get me wrong as the 906F4 just bombs the ball but you have to hit it almost perfect each time. Seems to be a bit more forgiveness with the newer 909 series and it sounds great. I am 4-5 handicap and just love the look of these new 909's. In fact I have traded in all my 906F4's and replaced hybrid, 5-wood and 3-wood with the 909F2 all with Diamana stiff flex. I decided to try these since my son swithcd to them from TaylorMade burner series and he just loves the new 909's. Well I can say after only three rounds that these are the most solid fairway clubs I have owned to date. 2010 June update - After playing 25 rounds now with these fairways, they are the straightest fairway woods I have ever hit. May not be the longest out there but straight is good. The rescue still seems to be a bit of a learning curve as I seem to push it right a bit. This is one of the few with NO offset so maybe I just have to get used to that first. It sure looks nice when looking down and preparing to hit it.Read full review
forgiving face and easy to get the ball in the air, love the f2's

I have a full Titleist set with AP2 Irons (regular) and 909D2 (stiff), and thought the 909F2 (regular) would fit in to make this a full Titleist set without having to test them first. Unfortunately, I found them heavier and they stood out, in terms of feel, differently than the rest. Nevertheless, they work well and give me the distance range to match between the driver and 3 iron. I've rated them as average due to the feel of these clubs in comparison to what I have. If you play with clubs with heavier swing weights, they would be the ones to have in your bag. But learn from me and to test them out for yourself before buying.
I love the feel of the item. I think that the sound at the moment of impact is better than any other 3 wood I tried, except for the 2000 dollar japanese ones. Anyhow, the trajectory of this club is kind of low, and it is not too forgiving. Recommended for those low handicappers and people who are used to 3 woods. If you think that the 909 hybrid is going to be a similar feel, you are highly mistaken. The 909 Hybrid is so much easier to get up in the air, but once you get to hit the sweet spot in the 909 F2, YOU WILL BE AMAZED. The distance projected in this club is actually slightly shorter (due to the lack of forgiveness), because you really need to hit it in the sweet spot. So if you do hit it in the sweet spot, the distance will be at least 10 yards longer than your regular 3 wood. Be aware that the club is hard to play, but it is an amazing tool and if you dominate this club, then you are ready for so much more. Good luck and I hope this review helps everybody out there who are titelist fans.Read full review
gorgeous club. the seller didnt describe the shaft accurately, only saying it had a diamana black label and it had the numbers 73 after the logo. i had expected the shaft to be a diamana thump hybrid shaft but was shocked when i received the item to see that it was a diamana ali'islei 73 shaft in stiff flex. this was diamana's 2008 limited edition shaft which sells for $299 new at tourspecgolf http://www.tourspecgolf.com/Diamana-ali39islei-Special-Edition-Shaft. the head looked great, with normal wear. the shaft had the sst-pured band, and at the range, it was a mean. launched nicely with moderate height (mid-high kick point) and spun nicely (appeared low which was great since i generate quite a bit of spin). the feel of the shaft is classic diamana: the liveliest and brightest feeling shaft in the market. it also sports a wonderful ion-plated look and the set-up was just fantastic. love at first sight. it immediately replaced the 13* tourspoon r7 tour-issued 3-wood with a diamana blueboard 73 xct5 in s-flex which i have had in the bag and has beat out everything out there for the last 4 years. imagine a 15.5* beating a 13* in distance (although feel was remarkably consistent since both sport the incredibly lively diamana shafts).Read full review
