GOODS IN TRANSIT POLICY
DISPATCH OF GOODS: Ultimate Vehicle is not in the business of freighting goods for financial reward. Ultimate Vehicle employ outside freight transport companies and does so in good faith to assist its customers to arrange freighting of goods to a required destination. Unless specified by the customer Ultimate Vehicle will select a freight company to transport goods. Ultimate Vehicle will select from a range of freight companies based upon some of the following: transit times required, service offered and previous transit history. Ultimate Vehicle will not be held responsible for any freight or transit issue, damage or loss of any nature, this will be the responsibility of the customer to follow up directly with the freight company involved if any issues should arise.
TRANSIT INSURANCE: Ultimate Vehicle strongly recommends that customers arrange their own transit insurance. Most freight companies engaged by Ultimate Vehicle do not offer transit insurance. Transit insurance may be available at extra cost if requested by customer prior to goods being dispatched.
Ultimate Vehicle in good faith recommends the following procedures be carefully followed when receiving goods to assist with any claims:
• Carefully check all goods for damage upon receiving and signing for the goods
• Note in writing, any visible damage to goods, cartons or wrapping, on the consignment note or receiving documents
• Notify Ultimate Vehicle of any damage or concerns within 3 hours of receiving goods
• Goods where inspection is not possible must be marked STI (Subject To Inspection)
• Any damage to goods should be photographed
• Any damage to cartons or wrapping should be photographed prior to opening carton or removing wrapping
Please remember it is the CUSTOMER’S responsibility to ensure that any damage is noted upon receiving any goods. Ultimate Vehicle will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to goods once the goods have been dispatched from Ultimate Vehicle premises.
