Vintage 1987 John Deere 150th Anniversary Limited Edition Print by John A. Ruthven

This auction is for a Vintage 1987 John Deere 150th Anniversary Limited Edition Print by John A. Ruthven.

This print is still in the orignal envelope that it was received in in 1987.  The envelope is dusty and since it was not sealed, some of the vintage dust has worked it's way onto the print cover and the print.  That's alright though, because this vintage John Deere 150th Anniversary print is something that EVERY John Deere fanatic needs in their collection.

With this auction, you get the following...

Original envelope that the print was shipped in.

The print itself with a couple of minor vintage dust smudges in the lower right hand corner.

The original folder that the print came in.

On the front of the folder, it reads..."1837-1987 150 John Deere".

On the back of the folder, it reads...

"150th Anniversary...Development of the first succesful self-scouring steel plow in 1837 was more than just the invention of a new farm implement.  John Deere invented a way of doing business.  His strong determination to build only quality products set his company apart from others.  And after 150 years, John Deere's company is still serving the needs of farmers - not only in the prairies of the Midwest, but around the world.

We all can take pride in John Deere's achievements and in his commitments: To innovation.  To superior product quality.  To exceptional value.  To excellence in customer service.  All in an environment where individual freedom encourages employees to become involved, to contribute to the betterment of their company and their communities."

"The Frameable Edition...To commemorate John Deere's 150th Anniversary, Deere & Company commissioned world renowned wildlife artist John A. Ruthven to create "Misty Morning," an original acrylic painting.

From this original painting, Deere & Company authorized an edition of frameable colored prints to be issued.

"Misty Morning" is issued on high-quality, acid-free 100 percent rag content paper.  Image size: 6 1/2 x 9 inches.  Overall paper size: 9 x 12 inches.

With the increasing interest in wildlife art and the unique nature of the "Misty Morning" print, you now own a John Deere memorabilia collector's treasure."

"THE ARTIST...Naturalist, conservationist, author and lecturer, John A. Ruthven also is internationally recognized as one of the most prominent wildlife artists today.

Winning the U.S. Department of Interior's Federal Duck Stamp competition in 1960 was the beginning for John.  Since then, he has been named First Artist of the Year by Ducks Unlimited in 1972 and was selected to desing the First Ohio Duck Stamp in 1982.  In 1984, he was named Trout Unlimited's Artist of the Year and was chosen First Stamp/Print Artist of the Year by Ducks Unlimited.

Ruthven has painted commission canvases for the U.S. Government for presentation to dignitaries worldwide.  Major universities, museums and conservation societies have also commissioned his work, resulting in fund-raising efforts and world wildlife conservation.

His commission by Deere & Company to paint "Misty Morning" representative of the new 1837 era, honors the contributions of John Deere and our 150th Anniversary."

I have too much stuff and need to clear out a few of the John Deere goods that I have accumulated over the years.

Either way, this is a unique looking John Deere collectible for the John Deere nut in your life.

It would make a nice addition, to any SERIOUS John Deere fans collection.
