This is a Vintage Lighted Theater Exit Sign.

At the time of the original listing this was one of a number of theater and film related items purchased from the estate of a collector of such items, and being listed individually. The other items are all theater or film related so I assume this sign is theater item as well but I do not know for sure. The items we purchased include film cases, other cases and trunks, signs, lighting, and other items.

The metal sign is 11 1/2" wide x 3" deep x 10 1/2" tall. It is quite heavy and weighs about 6 1/2 pounds.

The sign has EXIT cutout and backed with a plate of green translucent plastic or similar. There are also arrow cutouts at each end. It appears that the perforated arrow corresponding to the correct direction to the exit is supposed to be gently pried out and removed so that there will be a green arrow pointing in the right direction.

Since both arrows appear undisturbed it seems likely that this sign was a spare that was never used.

Condition:

Electronics

The sign has not been tested, but my assumption is that it is in good working order, especially since it seems likely that it has not been used. A closeup photo shows the two bulbs in side. The only caveat on working condition is that the test button, with adjacent test light, appears to be missing the actual button. The small white plastic cylinder that is depressed to light the test light, is there, but it seems to need the missing button or a pointed object to be able to depress it fully. PLEASE NOTE that for international sales, we cannot make the same assurance about working with different voltages and/or adaptors.

Case

The case is in very good condition with just a few minor scrapes or scratches on the paint. The green plastic sheet appears to be in excellent condition, and does the faceted clear plastic strip that covers part of the bottom opening.

The bucket is in fairly rough condition from normal usage. There are some spots of chipped / missing wood near the top, and perhaps some of these are where a handle was attached. As you can see from the photo, the metal bands are slightly out of place.
