Carte Michelin de la France
No.77: Valence ~ Grenoble
1954
I've been fortunate enough to find a handful of vintage Michelin maps of France....I have a bit of a fetish when it comes to maps, and am also a committed Francophile, so I simply couldn't resist them. However, there are more than one copy of some of them, so I'm offering the duplicate copies. They all date from the 1930's/40's/50's. I realise that the connection to cycling is a little tenuous, but I thought they may appeal as a lovely period prop for the saddlebag of a classic touring machine, or something similar. Mine are going to be displayed in my workshop....I love having classic and vintage French cycling memorabilia around me when working/fiddling/playing....cycling just seems SO much more romantic in France, and thanks to Le Tour France will always be to some extent a spritual home for cycling. Well, I think so anyway!
I'll also shortly be listing duplicates of a couple of vintage adverts as well, which I bought for the same reason. I also bought some classic French branded ashtrays, but I'm not sure if I DARE list those, as it might mean admitting to having succumbed to the awful habit since my racing days came to an end...Perhaps I should list them as spoke rests, or washer holders or something!!!
Complete, nicely worn, and without any nasty blemishes.
