These are superb quality phones even now, almost 35 years after they were made. Purchased new in about 1977 I think, for a (then) vast sum of about $200, as they were pretty much as good as you could get, except perhaps Stax electrets. 

You can find technical documentation easily on the net for these. 

NOTE: For all you iPod users, these are relatively inefficient electrically, so they won't play super loud (and you need an adaptor plug for the 3.5mm jack anyway)

Not used much in recent years, and sitting in a box in the cupboard. The headband is in great nick, never been dropped so the swivel ball joints are perfect, and they still sound just fine. Earpads are in good condition for the age - no splits or tears, although the foam padding is perhaps a little tired now.
