We have 5 kids, and all have been through Singapore Math in their grade school years. We think it is a great math curriculum because it teaches good "math thinking" skills and explains concepts incrementally and clearly. It's not overly "cartoonish" or dumbed down, yet not overwhelming visually as some math curricula are, with pages filled with practice problems. Kids in Singapore score top in the world for math skills, so we figured following their methods might be a good idea! We've not been disappointed. .

This is a fantastic series of books that teaches your child how to think through various ways of solving math problems. The illustrations are interesting and helpful, especially in the first few grade levels. My nine-year-old girl is starting level six and is already learning how to write simple algebra formulas to help solve problems. If you are a parent and unsure whether you can teach your child math, I would suggest looking at the first few levels and seeing how the text builds on earlier problems. By the time you get to levels five and six, you will understand/remember the concepts that are being taught and will be able to explain the processes used to your child. Enjoy!
I like Singapore Math for the lower grades. It is clear and takes them through the math nicely building on each lesson. Would definitely recommend these books.

I really like theses series of books. I tried many different Math curricula for little children. Primary Mathematics books are one of the best!
