All my items are vintage, and have had a life before I stumbled across them. I try and describe any imperfections as best as I can.
With Vintage paintings and prints in their original frames, they are not opened, so inspection is only done from what can be seen outside of the frame.
I will test to see if electrical items work, and let you know if it works or not, but I will selling them under the regulations that you need to get a certified electrician to check that they are in good working order.
When items are picked up, please inspect them before they leave the property, that you are happy with the item, as I will not refund the item.
With lost items and postage, please state if you would like insurance, so you are covered by items not received or broken in transit.
Normal postage does not cover this.
I use a courier service Smartsend, which has not lost an item as yet, but they do not insure glass items, so I will have to post with Australia post to get insurance.
I spend a lot of time packaging my items, as they are vintage and irreplaceable, and I have not had a broken item yet.
All the boxes I use for posting my items are recycled boxes. I don’t believe in purchasing new boxes, as it just adds to land fill.
Ebay are changing their ebay seller's fees.
Ebay will now take a percentage of the postage costs.
I can not offer free postage, as you can see the variety of my vintage items
are fragile, and can not be put in a satchal, and some are large and heavy.
What it would cost to post to Melbourne Metropolitan area of $9.75, may cost $45 to W.A.
What is going to happen, that sellers will put up their postage costs to cover the costs ebay are taking from us, which means you will be paying for it in the long run!
I don't see how, ebay can take a cut in postage costs. I use smartsend, and I charge what it costs to send, and I use this courier service, so I can send my rare and vintage items as cost effective to my buyers.
Ebay is taking a cut out of a service, they do not provide, or have anything to do.
That is like me saying, you bought that item from me, but you bought a coffee from a different shop, so I will take 10% of the cost of that coffee, that has nothing to do with me!
Please voice your opinions,as these big companies such as Ebay and Australia post also have a monopoly within Australia (that is why it is so expensive) and the more we complain, or change services, and stand up to these companies, the more we can get back in control.
Please write to ebay and voice your opinion!
