If you are looking to save some money, you can purchase an older system, but you should be aware that the maps may be outdated. Screen Size and Resolution

It is important to consider the screen size and resolution. Some drivers may prefer a large screen, which allows for better visibility. When purchasing a car navigation system, you will notice that they come in four different screen sizes: 3.5-inch, 4.3-inch, 4.7-inch and 5.0-inch. Some new car navigation system even come in 7.0 inches. It is advisable to get the largest screen possible, providing that it can be comfortably used within your car without impeding your vision.

Car navigation systems have come a long way in recent years, and live traffic updates are one of the best new features. Many of the major brand GPS now come with this feature, and they are connected to the SUNA traffic channel. Essentially what this feature does is plan your route according to the current traffic conditions and events. You will also receive alerts for traffic conditions such as congestion and accidents. This feature is available in premium GPS, so expect to pay slightly more. It is a valuable feature to have in large cities, where there can be more than 300+ incidents reported per hour.
