Enterprise NAS Disk Arrays

An NAS server is a type of network storage purpose-built to provide a more streamlined administrative experience, with less effort invested in setting up and faster access to files and programs stored on the network hard drive.

Enterprise NAS Disk Array Uses

An NAS disk array is specifically for hold files for access by other computers attached to the same network. While it may be possible to configure some kinds of NAS backup devices to run software programs, that is not their special purpose. They are for quick and easy movement, usage and organization of data, much like a local cloud. Because of this, their operations are typically lightweight and one can often manage them through a browser, even employing stripped-down rather than full-fledged operating systems.

Enterprise NAS Disk Array Types

There are two main kinds of NAS disk arrays: The traditional and clustered models. Both offer access to stored data, but a clustered NAS can distribute data and metadata across multiple storage nodes for load-balancing purposes, making them ideal for large office or academic networks.
