- Author BiographyBorn in Stuttgart, Germany, Katie spent most of her life moving from one place to the next, first as an Army brat, and then as a proud member of the United States Air Force. She is both an Air Force geospatial intelligence analyst and an Air Force historian. Through her many moves, Katie has learned a thing or two about gardening in a wide range of climates and seasons. She learned most of what she knows about plants and plant life from the family gardeners who surrounded her growing up but also picked up knowledge from a breadth of professionals and friends along the way.
