This is well worth the price especially if you get a package deal with an extra or different blade. I did. I like the black handle so I ordered the medium/universal bladed/black handle then got a bigboy 2000 xl toothed blade for $20-30ish more. Very happy. It is the quality thats boasted. Doesn't bind like cheap pruning saws. Cuts on pull and with ease. Very little elbow grease required. If I had to choose one hand saw this is it. Get the more aggressive teeth if your cutting alot in the woods. The medium toothed worked well and will use around yard perhaps, but I think I prefer the more aggressive xl teeth in the woods and for more bushcraft. The blade in the picture is the aggressive xl.

Quality & craftsmanship. Sharp extremely fast cut, compact, ease to use, large log capability, comfort in using it. Working on a leather sheath for belt either side or shoulder strap and will attach to back/day pack in or outside. The thin back makes it slide through much better ...nice. Just a snap of the wrist and it's open, would be rather formattable deterrent to unwanted visitors. "KingFish"

Folds into a small package that is easy to store or to carry. Cuts better and easier to use than most much larger saws. I used it on a small tree (about 4") that had blown over in the drive way. Much easier and safer than an ax. My wife even likes it. Ordered a second to carry camping.

I have a large property and am constantly cleaning up broken and hanging tree branches after storms etc. I My son had recently bought a Silky and recommended it as the "only one I should buy". The quality of this saw is top notch. 3-4 inch branches are cut with very little effort. I have yet to use it on anything much larger, but I expect it will perform just fine given the easy with which it saws. The cut is done on the 'pull' so it's relatively easy to keep the saw in the groove even on those branches I can barely reach. I love this saw! On the fun side, it does look like some wicked Japanese weapon.

I have 3 Silky saws now, and am impressed with all of them. Their quality and function are outstanding, and they are built to last. The BIGBOY 2000 with extra large teeth, is a very aggressive saw. It works great for larger branches and trees, and absolutely devours softwood. I also have a little GOMBOY 210 with medium teeth, which cuts surprisingly fast for a compact saw. For small diameter branches (finger size or smaller), I recommend medium teeth - as the larger teeth on the BIGBOY can chatter and catch. I use the BIGBOY 2000 for most of my cutting, even most small branches. The GOMBOY cuts great on small, flexible bushes. I keep one of my two BIGBOYs in my SUV, for clearing downed trees. The other BIGBOY and GOMBOY, are always with me in the woods. As they should be, Silky saw teeth are scary razor sharp - so be careful. Remember Silkys cut on the pull stroke, so proper technique needs to be practiced. Go slow, when you start using your new Silky - it'll still cut super fast!Read full review
