The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it dried... with a flat finish. I sprayed a clear coat over it and that helped. I wiped the lens with solvent and then sanded it lightly before spraying the tint. After one coat the red still showed through which I expected because it was a very light coat. I was happy with the results after the second coat. It is dark enough to eliminate the red color about 95% and yet the light still shows through.

Don’t buy the clear coat! I re...ad a few reviews that stated the tint was matte so you needed to get the clear coat. Hahaha that’s a JOKE!! The clear coat made my taillights looked streaky. I used the clear coat on my lights on the outer part of my taillights. I’m going to need brand new taillights if I can’t buff it out. The portion of the lights I didn’t use the clear coat looks great

Make sure the surface is dry and clean. No oils.... use rubber gloves. The oil on your hands will make the paint run. SPray the first coat lightly and let dry for no more than 30 mins. Use the second coat heavier and then let dry for 2 hours before handling. If you use a 3rd coat , use a very light coat because the lens will be very dark.Over all the lights look great and easy to clean. Much less expensive than replacing the entire lens.

This system is as good as it gets. IF you do proper prep (San...ding and cleaning) first. Please consider to leave a small circle in the front lens clear- it will give you great lighting. If shaded dark, it will make the lights too dim to be of use. Cover light with masking tape and try cutting out many sizes of circle to get the one perfect for your car first. Miz

If you really want blacked out light it may not be what you e...xpect. I did 4 coats on my taillights and it gave me a black cherry look but it's nice on my headlights.
