The main purpose of medical gloves is to protect from liquids, such as blood and bodily fluids.
Leather Gloves
Leather gloves perhaps are the strongest types of gloves when it comes to working with hazardous materials. These types can protect from burns from welding, cuts and scrapes and other types of injuries. These are often made of rough leather, and are not the smooth leather gloves you think about when it comes to dress gloves. They are often grey with fabric inserts, while the leather protects the most vulnerable parts of the hand.
Rubber and Plastic Gloves
Use rubber and plastic gloves for painting or for coming in contact with hazardous liquids. These are a bit stronger than medical gloves when it comes to their protection level, and can protect you from oils, solvents and other hazardous liquids. Many also use rubber gloves to protect their skin while washing dishes.
