I bought this model because I have used a 3GS bought in Australia for the past 3 years and have been very happy with it.
Unfortunately the model that I purchased this time around is far inferior. It is supposed to be brand new but it doesn't behave like a new phone. I have not loaded any new apps and my usage is just odd phone calls and receipt of emails but the phone starts discharging rapidly from the time it is taken off the charger. When the battery life gets below 50% (usually within a few hours) the phone is likely to cut out completely and will not switch on again until re-charged.
This does not behave like a new phone. I suspect that it could be a refurbished phone with an old battery.
I bought this iPhone not too long ago. As soon as I got it, I was already having trouble with it turning itself on and off. After about 2 days, it started to behave and worked normally. The operating system was definitely fast. I was happy. Not too long after, it once again started to turn on and off. At 100% battery life, I had to plug it into the computer to charge AGAIN!! It would turn on for about 1 minute before turning itself off again. I took it into the Apple store for the staff to check it out. They informed me that the iPhone had components taken out of it and other forms of the same component were put it. So essentially, the iPhone I had purchased, wasn't actually a proper iPhone, nor was it new. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. It definitely wasn't worth me losing $343.80. The phone is now not usable to me nor could I trade it into the Apple store as they can't even use the components of iPhone.
The person I brought this product from was kind, honest and easy to deal with. However, I paid $220 for an iphone which continually malfunctioned and ended up having to return it to the Apple store and buy a new one. In the end I spent $399 on an iphone 3gs 32 Gb when I could have brought a brand new iphone 4 for $489. Don't buy an iphone second hand. Just don't do it. You will end up spending more money than buying a new phone and the second hand one has no warrantee and will be unreliable, so please don't waste your money.
This was a dud phone. Inside was leakage of fluid, battery life expired and would not hold the charge. LED had been replaced with unapproved Apple parts. BUYER BEWARE !!!
Even though this is not the latest iPhone available, I find this device more suited to my lifestyle - I am no tech head. I just wanted something simple and easy to use that I could use as my music device as well as make calls and play the occasional game.
twice i purchased an iphone both times 3gs, both times very very dissapointed, all the hype and fanfare it's the best.... if they worked properly or maybe the sellers are using poetic license a tad.
