A great phone in the usual form factor of most smart phones available, though a susperceeded phone it offers everything of the new phones on the market bar the large screen without paying a kings ransom for the privelege, as used 32Gb unlocked examples in great condition go around the $330 to $400 mark.
The one aspect which Im used to now, but some may find annoying is the proprietry software of the Apple unit, meaning everything has to be done via itunes and converted into "APPLE SPEAk" which unless you buy everyting from the Itunes store will require lots of converting and importing files you have on your system if you want to use it on your iphone, music and movies etc.
Pros:Great Display, sharp and clear, quality of build, feel, processor
Cons : small screen compared to other new smartphones
everthing has to be done through itunes
Buying this product was an impulse buy. I did not need or want a new phone but when I decided to search for mobile phones and the most popular search was for an iPhone I thought I would have a look and see what second hand iPhones were selling for.
I began bidding on my item when there was only a few minutes left which looking back was both an advantage and a disadvantage. The advantage was that I won the item, the disadvantage was that I didn't get an opportunity to ask questions as there was not enough time.
The phone works pretty well but I have discovered that the inverted camera doesn't work but I do know that it is common for these types of phones to freeze. This minor imperfection hasn't made me regret the decision to buy the phone. I am very happy with the product especially for the price I paid.
It's only downfall is the battery life is not the best and needs to be charged every night depending on the usage during the day i.e. Social networking, Internet, music etc.
The iPhone 4 is one of the best smartphone's on the market right now. The combination of gorgeous new hardware, that amazing display, upgraded cameras, and major improvements to the operating system make this an extremely formidable package. Yes, there are still pain points that we want to see Apple fix, and yes, there are some amazing alternatives to the iPhone 4 out there. But when it comes to the total package -- fit and finish in both software and hardware, performance, app selection, and all of the little details that make a device like this what it is -- we think it's the cream of the current crop. We won't argue that a lot of this is a matter of taste -- some people will just prefer the way Android or Symbian works to the iPhone, and others will be on the lookout for a hardware keyboard or a particular asset that the iPhone 4 lacks -- but in terms of the total picture, it's tough to deny that Apple has moved one step past the competition with this phone. Of course, in the hyper-accelerated smartphone market where the Next Big Thing seems to always be just around the corner, it's anyone's guess how long they keep that edge.
The iphone serves as my main phone of use. Coming from a family of mostly iphone and mac users, i have come to discover the fact that this Handheld differentiates itself from others. In the sense of, simplicity, technology, and overall its purpose as an all-in-one device. This item as opposed to others, and the main reason for my purchase, is that it does not easily contract a virus. This is what holds apple products, apart from others. No matter which iphone you purchase, wether this, 4s, or the 5. This isnt much difference amongst them. They all serve one purpose. That being, the most advanced technology to date.
I have had a Iphone 4 for a few years now an i must say its great.
I purcahsed it when my HTC Broke, and i havn't looked back. I mean why would you? They are so each to use.
So lets address some issues.
16gb of storage- Now with apple telling you that you can have upto 64gb(and pay twice the price...) you are left wondering if 16 is enough...Let me tell you it certainly is! Unless you are going to be dumping your whole music and movie collection into your phone you wont ever have an issue.
Camera- In general Apples cameras have been pretty good, and this is no exception. Once again the auto focus is good and it simply works. No its not 12 mega pixels like most new phones, but i was once told by a photographer that for the ordinary snap shot anything over 3MP is more than enough.
Battery life- The one thing that always lets apple down...Or does it? You need to think realistically. Apple didn't design these phones to be used 24/7. They are designed for you to fiddle with on the bus, and listen to music with at the gym, and to have a few texts through the day. They weren't designed to be abused like society does. So treat it like a phone, not a laptop and you will be fine.
1 the reason I purchased an iphone via ebay wast that it was not available in or around the country area in which i live.
2 delivery was as advertised
3 the product is packed with features and add ons some of which carry extra charges beware.
4The operation of a touch screen device after a push button device takes some getting used to, the answer is to play with it during any spare time you have. the instructions with the iphone are minimal and a fuller set of instructions are available online which are a must have
5The apple iphone is easier to operate than some other brands though it will be some time before I realise its full potential. you will need a teenager to teach you how to use it
I was tossing up between buying the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S or iPhone 4... And I came to the conclusion that the iPhone 4 was the best for me. First, here are the reasons I chose not to buy an iPhone 5:
* It had almost all of the features of an iPhone 5
* I had been told it had a better battery life than an iPhone 5
* It had sufficient storage capacity
* It was cheaper than the iPhone iPhone 5
* iPhone 5 is larger, therefore more inconvenient
* iPhone 5 requires new cords (I already had multiple connections for an older iPod product)
The above reasons lead me to my last decision: the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S? These are the reasons that helped me with my last decision:
* I did not need Siri
* iPhone 4 is the cheapest
* I did not need a better camera than what the iPhone 4 has
So I reached my conclusion and I bought the iPhone 4. And now? I'm happy. I love my phone. It works... I've had no problems with it. I've still managed to take quality photos (and video!) that I've shared with my friends and family. It's great. I was able to buy a new phone with (pretty much) all the latest features - and save about $400!
the truth is that i'm very unhappy with apple monopoly ...why would anybody spend up to one thousand dollars for a phone and need a pc to get it going and only if apple is not to busy;;;
the iphone is a good phone when it works but realy it's only a phone... the reason i got a new one is because i already have apps cases cables etc....
Poor battery life maybe get 1 days use out of it. Hard to type with fat fingers when typing in a hurry and when you type "hon" it would autocorrect to Jon no batter how many times you tell it not to. Other than that a great device.
Good robust phone, no damage, good value for the money, very good second hand item that work well in Australia with good apps and battery seems to be working well. Charger works very well, delivered in original box which made learning how to use it very easy as it is different to the android phone. Overall great product. very happy with purchase.
