This iPhone 4s is the best phone product I have ever used (ios 6.1.3 at time of writing, April 2013). from scrolling the menus to navigating using apps, this phone has plenty of power and the battery seems to last the day with some use all round (gps included).
The phone signal is generally strong and seems more reliable and stable than my older iPhone 3Gs, the same goes for the gps and compass, the buttons and the camera. The camera is actually pretty fast and it is very easy to share photos with other apple and non-apple users via email, facebook, shared albums etc.
The speakerphone quality is quite high and the normal speaker is quite good (provided the phone on the other end is good too!)
Answering the top rated review questions:
1. I bought this product because I needed a better all-round phone including phone signal, camera, gps, a faster interface and ease of use. This phone hit all the marks perfectly for me.
2. I love everything about the product but I dislike that I cant do some technical things (app-based though, NO Jailbreaking) like wifi-frequency scanning, Bluetooth to any phone natively without using a non-apple app (there is a way around) and file access to storage, not just the photos.
3. Drawing a comparison to others (including the latest android phones - Generally), I think this phone is easier to use because of the structure and layout of the menus. the settings and details of the phone are easily accessible via the settings icon and when you want specific apps, you just go to where you have put them. You don't have to do anything complicated to organise your apps and the process only takes about two or three movements of your finger (if you even need to organise them!)
Everything on the whole is logically laid out and customizable (within reason) and the software is quite stable moving between many apps over the period of a month. If you need to do things that the phone natively doesn't support, think outside the box and see if you can do them another way. If you cant Bluetooth to another phone, use a wifi file app! if you want to send files to a pc, do the same! It's fun and easy to do these things with your new phones and this one is no different! Go crazy and enjoy!!!!
I have not owned an apple product to date. Have used top or the range Nokia N97 and Blackberry Torch and have been quite happy with them. This phone is very easy to use, love the responsive touch screen, the glass seems very resistant to scratch. Apps are great and all is very user friendly. Call sound quality is good as is signal reception. Battery lasts me the full day with lots of use regardless of others bad experiences I have about 40% power left right now at 9pm after a good days using of facebook, email, browsing and Siri. When she works. That would be at the mo my only complaint is that Siri the assistant seems to have taken unauthorized leave. The assistant is very eratic and many times cannot connect to the network. I understand this is a Beta version and as such not yet complete, and I can live with that...for now. But you do become reliant and when you need it you need it. So if it works 80% it would be acceptable, but I am getting about 35% successful response from Siri. When she works it is it great. She seems to understand most of what I say even though I have a sort of South African accent and not American or Uk. She is witty, sarcastic and helpful. I like that she is not just a robot and seems to think for herself and not just give the same old robotic answers. She is quite addictive and fun. Music and sound quality is fantastic as is the photo and video quality. Back to Siri, it would be great if she would vocally do the reminding of appointments and reminders. Perhaps this may come in the future. The phone hooks up easily to wifi where ever you go and will prefer wifi to data over isp so you do not get wacked with big data usage. Overall good phone. I ordered a Life Proof cover which will protect it a bit better and also ensure waterproofing. I fully recommend this as a business tool and hope that Apple will improve and enhance their server capacity so that we can make full use of the Siri side of things.
This has to be the best phone on the market!
Easy to use, great value, nothing can beat apple.
With great specs such as these:

You couldnt possible go wrong!
One would think the biggest problem of the iPhone 4S is that it isn't an iPhone 5. Go ahead and say it to a phone whose launch broke sales records and sent the bereaved company's stock soaring.
But this is not what people should care about either. It's not the place for what ifs. The truth is Apple will really need to step on the Fast Forward button with the iPhone 5. A massive challenge - and they need time and a clear mind to do it right.
It's not the right time for Apple to go for speeds that may throw them off course. It would be wrong though to look at the iPhone 4S as a mere time-buying move. In fact, the iPhone 4S has the right measure of Fast and Forward in it. And some of it is to be taken literally.
The iPhone 4S is blazing fast on the new dual-core CPU and graphics chip. And by the way, this is a long-term asset - new apps and services will take advantage and they'll be exclusive to the 4S. The iPhone is finally up there with the industry's finest camera phones too. In fact, it may well have the best 8MP stills and Full HD videos a mobile phone can produce. iOS 5 is busy making a difference too with the iCloud, iMessage, OTA updates, new notifications and voice recognition. On top of that you get the best app store and the brilliant looks of the original iPhone 4.
When you add it all up, Apple have a smartphone that can match and even outclass formidable peers like the Samsung Galaxy S II, the Galaxy Nexus or the Nokia N9. In the US, it will be the likes of the HTC Amaze 4G and the Verizon DROID RAZR.
For millions of people though it will be between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S. Tough one we know. But hey, there's an app for that:
USER: Do you know a better phone than an iPhone 4S?
SIRI: Wait… there are other phones?
The iPhone 4S is a good product; well built and easy to use. The gradual updates of iPhone software will no doubt make this phone very slow to use by around the middle of 2014. That said, there is a lot of good use to be had by then.
Great features include the Wifi Hot Spot function. On an Optus $99 plan in Australia unlimited phone calls and SMS messages can be provided for along with 5gb of data. This meets all of my home internet requirements.
The phone has significantly better reception than earlier models, especially the pre-iPhone 4 models.
The variety of software available for the phone is excellent.
The Siri function allows for hands free sms messages. Push a button and then the rest is all voice instruction. I am not sure if this is legal while driving but if people do this rather than text by hand it will save a few lives!
High quality screen, a great built in speaker and good periods between recharges make this a a great product that meets all of my needs.
I have used an Apple iPhone 4s, since they came out on day one... They are a reliable and solid phone BUT they are ridiculously over priced and Apple charges for absolutely ANYTHING.
People say that Microsoft are bad when it comes to money, and yet when dealing with them I was given free copies of Windows 7 after purchasing what appeared to be real (but was actually counterfeit) software.
Overall, the phone is well-built and will last, provided you treat it correct... If you 'have' to own an iPhone, then get one, but if you are just looking for 'any old smartphone' then perhaps look into HTC and Samsung, which are just as good but cheaper...
The lack of Bluetooth to other devices is also a major drawback, and so is the 'locked' software and customization... Overall if these two features were enabled to allow a complete customized look (if desired) and Bluetooth to ALL devices, not just other iPhones, then the 'features' would be a lot better...
Finally, like all smartphones, the battery life is not that great... It WILL need charging every night if you plan on making any real use of the phone... But that seems to be the standard for smartphones now... If you want great battery life, go get a Nokia from Big W... smartphones are not for you..
After a year of use on my iPhone, the battery has not declined at all in time for charge and discharge... It still lasts just as long.. (But as far as I am aware they have limited charge-cycles).
I have upgraded from a 3g to this 4s and am loving it.Great phone full of features....I'm a big Apple fan and find that all the extra fexctures are well worth it. Siri can be quite helpful and funny. the graphis are awesome and the volume seems to be better than the 3g...
It is the ultmate phone atm and I would recomend it to anyone. I do find it easy to sync and to use the cameras are both good and to use facetime is awesome also....The camera being accessable from the lock screen is a handy add on and the video is great quality for a phone :P
This phone is so much eaiser to use than many other types phones I have had to use. Battery life is a little soft but does well all the same (maybe a Morph Juice Boost pack could be a good idea)
The phone runs sooo smothly I was very superised...and happy about that. everything seems to just slide through what ever your doing..
Well worth the money spent and I am very happy I spent it :P
iPhone 4s is a wonderful phone that is easy to use and and a pleasure to use. I recommend this phone to everyone from all walks of life as it will fit all types of use from the CEO the the stay at home Mother.
I hope this helps others to make a good decision to buy one too :P
Memory 32GB is enough for me to take photo as well as for music. The battery Doesn't last long if you use it also for listening music. Need recharge almost everyday and I bought portable recharger.
This is my first i-phone after using Android for some years. I'm using OS 7, seems bit unfriendly to me.
The Apple iPhone 4S - 32GB is more than I thought possible in a phone. I am past retiring age and found the iPhone very easy to get used to and bear in mind I remember the days of ringing an Exchange and being plugged into who you wanted.
Simply put, it is a brilliant phone and Apple has produced a very reliable phone.
The only down side is the glass front and back plus not being able to Bluetooth to other brands of phone otherwise, this phone is extremely advanced in Technology.
I brought this for my wife for her birthday after she brought a HTC and hated it for 24 months.
I love the iPhone series and its features.
Battery life could be better but that's the price you pay for so much functionality.
The apps are sometimes overpriced but there are an overwhelming amount of free ones.
The size of the phone is ideal, if I could change it I'd make it a tad thinner and slimmer.
