Little secrets grow up to be big lies. They've been best friends since their sons started high school together, and Felicity, Emma and Neve share everything. or so they thought. But Flick's seemingly perfect marriage hides a shocking secret which, with one word, threatens to destroy her and her family's happiness.
Age of Consent by Norman Lindsay (1994). We have eye for stuff that is out of print and hard to find, stuff that appeals to special interests, and stuff that is just dang cool or left of field. Army of Nerds is me (Shawn), with lots of help from my not-really-my-wife (Alison), and an imaginary primate on work experience (Dr Pogo Baboon).
What unfolds is a powerful, haunting novel about love, sex and marriage, parenting and children, and the fury and intensity - all the passions and conflicting beliefs - that family can arouse. In its clear-eyed and forensic dissection of the ever-growing middle class and its aspirations and fears,The Slap is also a poignant, provocative novel about the nature of loyalty and happiness, compromise and truth.
The Red Shoe
Review by Good Reads:
Funny, tough-minded and tender, this is the story of Matilda and her two sisters growing up in Sydney, Australia, in the early 1950s. Their father is mentally unstable and largely absent, their mother is possibly in the thrall of his brother, and a headline-making Russian spy defection is taking place next door. Punctuated by the headlines of the times, The Red Shoe depicts how the large events of the world can impinge on ordinary lives. This is a novel to savor by one of Australia's most gifted writers for young people.

Footnotes: The respected Professor Ramsay Smith stole the material from the original manuscript written by David Unaipon and of course failed to acknowledge any of this. Unaipon wrote the book and this original manuscript is now held by the Mitchell Library.
I for Isobel, Amy witting's second novel, is the much loved story of a brilliant young woman's search for identity. This novel is commonly used in classroom discussions and as such this book has been used for the same purpose. It is in excellent condition with only minimal highlighting on a few pages as well as a few sentences written for clearer understanding of the text. It is highly recommended for female high school students.
BULK LOT OF BOOKS BY AUSTRALIAN AUTHORS. SWORDS AND CROWNS AND RINGS by RUTH PARK - paperback. SERPENT'S DELIGHT by RUTH PARK - paperback. WILD MEN OF SYDNEY by CYRIL PEARL - paperback. THE HARP IN THE SOUTH by RUTH PARK - paperback.
Novel written by Isla Fisher back when she was still just a Home and Away starlet, and I was a 13-year-old super fan. it's a bit of a trashy romance with a ballet theme but if you're a fan of hers then it's certainly worth a read!
