Goldmine Record Album Price Guide (2007) by Tim Neely
6 of 7 found this helpful This is an ongoing book for me, and I wanted the updated version (I had the last one dated 2003) to see the current prices of my LPs. I am both a collector and a record dealer, so it helps to know what a record is worth, even if it is only a guide. For the most part, the LPs have remained stable in value, but this edition also picks up LPs issued 2003-2007 as well. I appreciated the format change from three columns (according to record condition) to only one column. The three columns were not needed, as the first two columns were just set percentages of the last one anyway. The extra space allowed more LPs to be listed.

I get one each year. This year, the pocket calendar arrived in my mailbox ONE DAY after I ordered it. Don't know how they did that. I'm impressed..

Record Collecting is a Passionate Hobby
This is an amazing book that really gets the feel of record collecting. Personally, I have been collecting records since 1957 when I got my first 45 rpm at age nine. Now my collection numbers over 100,000 LPs and 45s, so I feel comfortable in commenting. This book points out the variety available to collectors, such as R. Crumb's passion for 78s. It's right on every point, such as most record collectors are male. Rarely does any author 'get it right' but this one does. Highly recommend for any record collector. It's fun to read!
