2-Axle Heavy Machinery Trailers
When you need to carry heavy machinery or have a heavy load such as livestock, it’s a must to have a strong, durable trailer that can handle the load. For larger loads, the choice is obvious since a 2-axle trailer has two sets of wheels as opposed to smaller trailers that have only one set of wheels. This covers quite a few different types of trailers such as enclosed car trailers, box trailers, tandem trailers and more. No matter what type of heavy duty 2-axle trailer you need, there are many styles and models to choose from to make sure your goods or load is safety taken care of.Flatbed Types
For carrying heavy machinery, flatbed trailers are a good type to use. These flat-top trailers may or may not have a gate enclosure but some do feature a gate and fence so that it’s easier to strap or place heavy items. Some may only feature an enclosure at one side. Depending on what type of machinery you’re hauling, you may want to opt for the type with the highest enclosure.Dump Trailers
A dump trailer resembles a flatbed or flat top trailers, but has a mechanism that allows you to dump, or tip, one end of the trailer to dump a load. These typically have a tighter enclosure on all sides to better carry dirt, stone and gravel. Dump trailers are a good idea if you routinely carry different types of loads; for example, heavy machinery for one load and sand in the other.Livestock Options
Livestock trailers have complete enclosures on all sides to keep animals completely safe during transport. This type of trailer is usually a lot shorter in length than heavy machinery trailers as it’s met to snugly fit a horse, cow or other type of livestock. This type of trailer is a car trailer and attaches easily to most vehicles. Many of these are made of galvanised steel for durability.Utility Trailers
There are several different types of utility trailers. Some are meant to carry different types of machinery and are shaped exactly for that purpose (such as carrying a front loader). Others are small, boxy trailers that are best used to haul items from one place to another. They’re not quite strong enough to be used as a flatbed trailer but are durable enough to carry a heavy utility load.
