This is a beautifully proportioned mask that has a great aesthetic appeal. It has the obvious signs of wear which adds to its appeal. There is a small crack at the top of the mask and possibly a native repair at the base which is only faintly visible from the back.

Superb Large old Mwei Mask New Guinea with shell inlays and boar tusks - collected in the late 1950's early 1960's-860mm long. Some of the human hair is missing and a few of the shell are gone. Overall this superior example is in very good and excellent display condition.
