Should I use a bagless or a bagged vacuum cleaner?

The 'traditional' vacuum cleaner operates by collecting the dust and dirt in a bag inside the vacuum cleaner, with which an enormous amount of hassle goes with emptying and replacing the bags for a 'bagged vacuum'.
