Caravan Heaters

If you spend time travelling in your caravan, installing a heater can ensure you don’t have to deal with the chilly winters that most parts of Australia experience. While most modern caravans come with some kind of inbuilt heating systems, there are instances when existing units fail to serve the purpose. In such a case, or if your caravan needs a new or replacement heater, you get to choose from different options.

Diesel Heaters

A diesel heater works as an effective low-cost alternative if you want to heat a large area of if you spend extended durations in cold weather conditions. These caravan heaters come with fuel tanks as well as air intake and exhaust systems mounted on the outside. If you plan to use a portable diesel heater, make sure you operate it outside the caravan. Diesel caravan heaters are generally noisy.

Gas Heaters

Gas heaters are typically more expensive than diesel heaters. Gas consumption can be high if you keep the heater on for prolonged periods, and gas is not at its efficient best when used in cold conditions. This is particularly the case with butane, which does not perform well when the temperature dips very low. Besides, if you rely on a heater that operates only on gas, you’ll need to keep replacing cylinders often, and you might also end up running out of gas completely at some point.

Gas and Electric Combination Heaters

These models give you the ability to switch between gas and electricity, so you can use electricity when it’s available. Some dual-operation models let you use both sources of power simultaneously. As with diesel and gas heaters, these models also offer different heat output and efficiency levels.

Have You Considered Getting an Air Conditioner?

Caravan air conditioners allows you to tackle both, summers and winters. While an onsite caravan can do with a household window mounted or split air conditioner, if you use your caravan for travelling, ensure getting a specialist caravan air conditioner. To spruce up your caravan further, you may also consider looking at other caravan parts and accessories, such as awnings, annexes, refrigerators, tables, lamps, and steps.
