Caravan Tarps

For many, going on a camping or road trip means jumping in the caravan and heading across the country. You always hope for good weather, but also know that there will be some inclement days along the way. One of the best things you can do for your caravan is to have a tarp or cover for it. There are several different types of covers and tarps to choose from, and you’re sure to find the right one that suits your needs.

Tarps for Coverage

Instead of a caravan cover, you may want a cover that attaches to the roof of your caravan so you have something to sit under, even if it rains. This is similar to an awning; however, tarps are usually made out of durable PVC, while awnings are often made out of thick canvas, both protecting against the elements. You may want to opt for a roll-up tarp that you can pin to the ground, or simply a sturdy piece of PVC to drape across the roof of your caravan or RV.

Caravan Covers

You may also opt to have a complete caravan cover. This is an item you’ll most likely use during the off-season, as a full cover is ideal for protecting your caravan from wind, rain, snow, and other inclement weather. Look for a heavy-duty PVC cover that fits completely over your caravan. Covers come in many different sizes, so you should be able to find one that works well to fit over your vehicle.

Awnings

You may want a semi-permanent caravan awning that attaches to your caravan and provides you shade during sunny days and coverage during rainy days. This is a must-have, particularly if you camp often in your caravan or RV. Look for awnings made of heavy-duty PVC or canvas. An awning should semi-permanently attach to your caravan, as this is something you may not want to install and reinstall each time, such as a slip-on cover.

Tarps and Other Options

You may simply want a small tarp for camping trips - one that doesn’t necessarily provide full coverage, but a piece you can drape should the need arise. Just as with other caravan parts and accessories, durable PVC is perhap the best water-repellent material for a tarp. A small or medium-sized tarp will suffice for a smaller caravan.
