Fisher & Paykel Water Filters
It's blinking at you, tormenting you every time you enter your kitchen. That little blue icon that means it's time to change your Fisher Paykel filter on your fridge. But don't despair, it's actually a much easier process than you expect. There's even reference videos online showing you exactly what you need to do. In fact, the Fisher Paykel manual suggests that you replace the filter every six months or if the water tastes bad, even if the icon is not showing on your fridge. Another sign that your Fisher Paykel filter needs replacing is that the ice is wet or clumping together, if the ice or water dispenser doesn't work at all, or the water flow has slowed down.
First thing, you need to purchase a replacement Fisher and Paykel water filter. Make sure you purchase the correct model of filter for your fridge. Check the manufacturer's instructions if you're not sure what model you need. When you have purchased your water filter, turn off the water supply. Remove the locking key at one end of the Fisher Paykel filter, then disconnect the water tube. Repeat on the other end. Attach the inlet end of the replacement filter to the water tube. Turn on the water supply, flush around 19 litres of water, and check for leaks. Turn off the water supply again, connect the other end of the new filter to the water tube. Lock in place. When all is done, depending on the model of your fridge, you can press the Function button for three seconds, the filter icon should disappear and the filter timer will reset.
