Combine fashion and cooking with Fleur Wood
Brooklyn-based Fleur Wood once took Australia's fashion world by storm. Her unique looks were ever so chic, and their unique style focused around making women feel good about themselves, not merely look good.
In addition to running her own online shop, Fleur Wood's designs, clothing collection, is stocked by other retailers. To this day the designer donates sizeable portions of her profits to charities across India, crediting that country, and her sabbatical in the Himalayas, for her inspiration.
Fleur Wood fashion
Though her highest point of fame was nearly 10 years ago, her pieces are still very popular, especially now that they qualify as retro, or vintage. The line includes women's dresses, coats, tops and also a homeware range.
Fleur Wood's flagship store opened in London in 2003, and is as popular as ever. Several stores have also been opened across Sydney, and her designs have been stocked in big-name Australian stores like Sidewalks, Sienna, The Kids Are Alright, Space Mercer and Lisa Kline, as well as London's Paul & Joe, and The Cross. Her most recent Australian store, in Chadstone, Melbourne, opened in 2009.
Fleur Wood cookbooks
Fleur Wood is the author of three books, including 2016's Food, Fashion, Friends. This book is as much about fashion as cookery, and turns cooking into a real event. It explores themed parties, and preparing for them in a way that goes far beyond simple cooking.
Food, Fashion, Love, published in 2014, is much more whimsical. It explores what motivates, and inspires the designer, and about how she approaches any creative project. Of course, there is no shortage of actual recipes, but there is as much of her unique style, and approach to fashion and creativity, as the drive that ties all of them together.
