HO Scale Model Train Buildings, Tunnels and Bridges

Model trains can be great fun to play with, both for children and adults. Whether your train set is big or small, it can become quite addictive. Once you start building on the number of locomotives, carriages or track pieces in your set, you might find you just want to keep adding more. But you don’t have to stop with just trains and track. You can build a whole town or rural area if you want to.

HO Scale

HO scale is the most commonly used scale for model trains. It uses a 1:87 scale, which allows for fine details in the models. In addition to the trains themselves, there are also many accessories available in HO scale, including buildings, tunnels and bridges.

HO Scale Train Set Materials and Structures

Train set accessories are made from several different materials. Wood HO scale model train buildings include stations, signal boxes, houses, sheds, shops and hotels, and plastic HO scale model buildings, tunnels and bridges are also available. Tunnels come in versions for both single and dual tracks, and you can also find corner tunnels. Moreover, there are a variety of bridges to choose from for model trains to travel either over or under. In addition, there are many other plastic structures on offer of similar types to those made from wood.

HO Scale Model Trees and Scenery

A model railway layout wouldn’t be complete without some HO scale model scenery and trees. There’s a variety of Australian native trees to choose from, including wattles, gums and bottlebrush, as well as other, non-native species. Or maybe hedges lining the tracks or grass and hay bales for a country scene are more your style.

HO Scale Model People and Animals

Your model town or country area also needs some residents, so why not add some HO scale model figures and people ? Choices include people sitting or standing, workmen and farm animals, including sheep, cows and horses.
