Wild and wacky HUF socks
HUF was founded by Keith Hufnagel, a New Yorker who grew up skateboarding around the city in the late 1980s.
Despite knock-backs he persevered, and after moving to San Francisco to pursue his skateboarding passion Hufnagel soon hit the big time and turned professional.
Keen to give back to the community of skateboarders he still felt a keen affinity with, in 2002 he opened a small boutique stocking the best, most respected skateboarding products and brands.
With the continued success of his store, Hufnagel decided to branch out by developing his own product line which combined skateboarding goods with streetwear. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength, manufacturing HUF men's shoes and apparel as well as smaller items like socks.
You can buy into Hufnagel's nonchalant way of life by shopping the HUF socks range here. His vintage-inspired design ethos and skate counter-culture influences are clear to see.
Perhaps HUF's most recognisable men's socks are the Plantlife Crew Socks, which feature the distinctive marijuana leaf in various bold, multi-coloured designs, including a glow-in-the-dark version.
If you're after less eye-catching socks, HUF socks also have simpler designs that still offer timeless appeal. The classic H crew socks cover the basics with essential colours such as white, black, or grey, and simple styling in the form of a single initial woven on the ankle.
While looking cool is at the forefront of HUF's principles, there's also clear substance to this style. It's always been one of Hufnagel's core beliefs that his products should demonstrate strong quality and classic craftsmanship, and his socks are no exception.
He is extremely involved in the production process and his eye for detail ensures that the best materials and techniques are used.
His socks feature thick, cotton-rich compositions with comfortable ribbed cuffs and plenty of stretch, perfect for skateboarders and non-skateboarders alike.
