Airbrush Systems & Sets

Airbrush Systems and Sets

Airbrush systems have become widely used across a whole range of industries, including art and illustration, makeup application, fingernail art, tattooing, tanning and automotive application. The type of system used in each generally differs in response to whether you're trying to achieve fine details and thick paint viscosities or spray large areas with a thin and misty veil.

Which Types of Airbrushes Are There?

Usually, there are three different characteristics to classify airbrushes—how to trigger the paint flow, the mechanism for feeding the paint into the airbrush and where the paint and air mix in the device. Simple airbrushes use a trigger system to activate the air flow, with the colour flow and spray pattern adjusted separately. You can also feed paint by gravity from a reservoir at the top of the airbrush in a gravity feed system, requiring less pressure, which makes them ideal for fine detail work. Bottom-feed airbrushes generally hold a larger amount of paint and are preferable for automotive applications.

Which Colours Are Available In Airbrush Systems?

Airbrush systems and sets come in a whole range of different colours, from pink and red airbrushes to black, gold and even clear airbrushes. You can also find sets of multi-coloured airbrushes if you're creating artworks, and airbrush cleaning kits to keep your equipment in top condition.

What Are the Advantages of Airbrush Makeup?

Airbrush makeup has become popular in film, theatre and for bridal makeup, as well as tanning applications, with home use airbrush systems that are small and work at lower pressures than industrial airbrush systems. While traditional makeup can settle in pores and wrinkles and be highly visible on film, sprayed-on makeup connects as tiny droplets with the skin to create an even and natural appearance. It also wears much longer and can stay put for up to 24 hours. You can also find silicone-based airbrush makeup that is waterproof, making it ideal for sweaty conditions or if you're in and out of the water. It requires a special makeup remover to get it off.
