LED Candle Decorative Candles
Candles are a terrific way to create a softly lit ambiance in a room, such as a dining room. They are also essential to have on hand for times when the power goes out. Traditional candles with wicks have been the standard for centuries but there are hazards associated with them. LED decorative candles offer the benefits of standard candles with none of the risks.
What types of LED decorative candles are there
LED decorative candles come in three basic shapes:
- Tea light
LED pillar candles are sturdy and thick, reminiscent of a can of soda or beer. In general, these typically come in sizes like 3 inches by five inches, which are the measurements for the diameter of the candle and its height. LED votive candles are short candles that also have a smaller diameter, typically around a 1/2 inch. These candles usually run about 2 or 3 inches tall. LED tea lights have the same diameter as votives, but are usually only an inch tall. There are also some container-style LED decorative candles that come in a glass or metal container.
What are some advantages of using LED decorative candles?
Obviously, the major advantage to using LED decorative candles compared to candles with a wick that you light is the fact that they cannot start a fire. This makes them safe to use in homes with small children and pets and means that no one has use caution around them. This also means that they stay lit because there is no flame to go out. Other advantages include:
- No wax mess
- No chemicals sent into the air
- Money savings
Although a single LED decorative candle is more expensive than a single wicked candle, the savings come in the long runs as there is no need to buy additional candles every time one burns down. In addition, rechargeable LED decorative candles have a long period of use.
Are there any special features of LED decorative candles?
The two power options available for LED decorative candles are battery-powered or rechargeable. Battery-operated candles typically last for between 100 to 400 hours, depending on the size of the candle and type of battery used. Like standard candles, many LED decorative candles are scented.
