Working Together

As a combined effort from both Google and LG, the 2013-released Nexus 5 was known as both the LG Nexus 5 and the Google Nexus 5. But, whatever its name, it was a pretty impressive phone when it was released. Why was it so impressive? The Nexus 5 managed to cram a whole heap of high-end features into a phone that had a mid-range phone’s price tag. While it did have a few minor issues, this was a seriously good phone for the price. For the most part, it measured up to the top-tier flagship phones on the market at the time, making it a great deal for smartphone buyers on a budget.

So, what made the Nexus 5 such a good buy? First off, it was fast. The Nexus 5 featured a quad-core 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, which happened to be the same amazingly fast CPU seen in the LG G2 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3. As for its design, this phone opted for a minimalist look that was both comfortable to hold and carry. With its decent stature (5.43 inches by 2.72 inches), the Nexus 5 squeezed in a very watchable 4.95-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display, featuring a 1,920x1,080-pixel resolution and 445ppi. Released with Android 4.4 KitKat, its software features were more than capable as well. And, while the camera is not as good as some smartphone cameras out now, it still captures gorgeous shots.
