LG Looking to the Future
When LG released its Optimus G phone in Australia in 2013, it had already been available for some time over in the United States. However, despite its tardy arrival, it was still deemed to be LG’s best smartphone to date. Initially released as a Telstra exclusive, the LG Optimus G ticked all the boxes. It offered a great look, great performance and some pretty great features. So, what did buyers get when they invested in the LG Optimus G?
Measuring up at 5.19 inches by 2.71 inches, the Optimus G was a standard sized smartphone that was about average for its time. While its design wasn’t set to wow onlookers, it still looked neat and tidy, without looking cheap. As for its display, the Optimus G 4.7-inch was both colourful and crisp, featuring a very respectable 1280x768 pixel resolution. Its 320ppi display stood up nicely against the competition, which at the time was the Nokia Lumia 920’s 332ppi, the iPhone 5’s 326ppi and the Samsung Galaxy S3’s 306ppi.
Aside from that, the Optimus G featured a very lovely camera for the time, packing in 13 megapixels on its rear shooter. And that’s not all, this phone was perfectly snappy in its performance as well, calling on its Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset to run even the most graphics-heavy apps smoothly and without hiccoughs.
