Age and condition

Genuine cast iron garden furniture can date right back to the mid-20th century, providing a unique retro perspective to your modern outdoor entertaining area. Some items are ready for DIY care to bring them back to their glory days, while other items have already been fully restored with rust-proof treatment, replacement timber slats and a fresh coat of paint.

Outdoor table and chair sets

It's hard to go past the classic outdoor cast iron furniture sets featuring a small round table and 2 chairs. The typical patterns are Victorian Evesham with acanthus leaf chair backs and foliate scroll work on the table top. You will generally be looking at a table that's approximately 62cm high with a table top diameter of 73cm. The chairs are approximately 88cm high with a diameter of 40cm. Genuine cast iron chairs weigh around 25-30kg. Colours include black, blue, green and cream, but the pieces can always be repainted for an exciting modern appearance.

Cast iron benches

Most cast iron garden benches feature quality cast iron ends in unique patterns, along with durable timber slats. However, you may also come across benches with cast iron backs. The standard length of a bench is around 122cm.
