Sauna Suits

Do you remember space-age looking, shiny, plastic-like sauna suits? Luckily, they are a thing of the past. Nowadays, you can find sauna suits in many different colours and styles. If you are looking for a way to sweat during your next workout, it may be the way to go. Just take a look at the variety available to see what works best for you.

Weight Loss Tool

Sauna suits have been used for some time. Fighters, wrestlers and other people who need to make weight goals have used them to drop water weight quickly. Other people use them to sweat a little more during exercise and hopefully burn more calories. These are not to be confused with men's and women's cotton sweat suits, which do keep you warm.

Sauna Suit Materials

Sauna suits come in many different materials. Neoprene, the material used in wetsuits, has a bit of give and does not rip as easily as some materials. You may also find suits make from polyurethane and nylon. This type is more loose fitting than a neoprene one. Whatever material the suit in made from, it is not intended to be breathable so as to raise your body temperature and make you sweat.

Sauna Suit Styles

While older models of sauna suits may have looked just like plastic tracksuits, these days, they come in many different styles and types. You can find the full suit or just one piece. Tops meant to be worn under clothing and leggings or shorts are available as well. Some sauna suits are also marketed to be slimming as well, so you have warmth and control.

Compensate for Water Loss

No matter what you're using the sauna suit for, make sure to compensate for the extra sweating. Make sure you have your water bottle or other hydration tool with you when you wear one. The extra water loss means you can become dehydrated faster.
