Sony VAIO Laptops and Notebooks

A popular laptop brand for quite a few years, Sony VAIO laptops and notebooks provided durability, strong processors and sharp graphics during the years they were manufactured. As of 2017, Sony is no longer manufacturing the VAIO brand, although they are still offering support to those who own these laptops and notebooks. Because of their discontinuance, a VAIO, especially a NOS (new old stock) or refurbished model, is a terrific economical choice for someone who needs computing on the go.

VAIO Laptops

Laptops and notebooks are very similar to one another; the main difference is the size of the hard drive, and also the monitor and shell. A laptop is much more liable to have a SSD drive (solid state drive), and might be known as a better RAM computer, meaning it has more RAM, and therefore, more memory. A laptop has a larger screen size, often 15 to 17 inches, and while it is still portable, not as lightweight and easy to carry as its notebook counterparts. However, both laptops and notebooks are easy to carry to school or work with the right bag or sleeve.

Notebook Options

Sony offered quite a few VAIO notebook options. These types of small computers are great to stow in a backpack to take to class for taking notes and are great portable computers for on-the-go work environments. Not known for having a strong processor or RAM, notebooks are usually meant to be a supplementary computer rather than a main one. Still, Sony VAIO models received excellent reviews from authoritative sources such as CNET.

Replacement Parts

If you already own a VAIO laptop or notebook, you may be interested more in replacement parts than a replacement laptop. Becausr they are still offering support, there are EOM replacement parts available through Sony electronics. However, you can also find replacements, like batteries or power cords, through other unbranded companies as well.

To make the use of your laptop or notebook seamless, you’ll want a few accessories to go along with your device. While headphones or earbuds aren’t a must, they’re a great idea for when you may need to work in a public space. Also, just like with your smartphone or tablet, you’ll want a bag or case for your Sony that is shockproof and helps prevent against damage, should you drop your device. If you have a small notebook, you may also want an extra keyboard to make typing in certain situations a bit easier.
