Jacaranda mimosifolia is a native to temperate parts of Brazil and Argentina and has been grown across the world for its beautiful coloured flowers and attractive spreading growth habit. The bark is pale brown and furrowed, transverse cracks dividing the ridges between the furrows into long, narrow scales. Leaves are compound and feathery on a stalk to 40 cm; with up to 30 pairs of pinnae bearing small, pointed leaflets.
