Anytime you need electrical connectivity to a fixed appliance or loom wiring or other ancillary items, surface sockets are the perfect type of eletrical socket to use. These little sockets are a way to provide power with a front and rear connection. These sockets come in two, three or four pin configurations so you have a variety of options when working with your electrical systems. Surface sockets do not require stripping or twisting of cables. You don't have to screw down conductors or even use nail plates. These are extremely helpful when there are limited options with what you have, providing you with greater coverage electrically. Other Electrical Sockets
There are other electrical socket options available than just surface sockets. power point socket and double power point sockets are the most commonly found type of sockets in any setting. These usually have an earthing pin and two flat current carrying pins that form an upside down V. Many of the newer versions of this type of socket have a switch for extra safety. There are also unearthed variations of these sockets with two angled power pins; however, no earthing pin is present with small double-insulated appliances, but the sockets always use an earth contact. Double power point sockets are simply that they include a second socket instead of one. Another more updated version of electrical sockets includes the USB power point socket. These allow almost any electrical device to plug in, including smart devices that utilize a USB connection. It is becoming more and more frequent that smaller appliances or electrical devices connect via USB, and having sockets that have a USB option is greatly beneficial. As electrical demands change so do the sockets and plugs that coincide with them.
