Water Level Indicator
With a tank level indicator, monitoring the level of water in your onboard caravan water tank is made convenient. Through the use of a sender probe, water level indicators can read whether your tank is full, half full or near empty. Choose from the wide range of the indicators available among other caravan parts and accessories.
How do water level indicators work?
The probes will usually have sensors that detects the level of the water through different mechanisms such as capacitance. The readings are then displayed on the water tank gauge. This prevents the tank from overfilling and also warns you when it’s time to fill again. The indicators are operated through an external power supply or through batteries.
How many tanks can be monitored with a single water level indicator?
The water level indicators mostly come as either;
- Single gauge
- Double gauge
- Triple gauge
The single gauges can only be used on a single tank at a time while the double and triple gauges can be used to gauge the water levels for two and three tanks respectively at a single time.
Installation of the water level indicators
Depending on the type, the sender probe can be installed into the side of the water tank through a hole. In this case, you won’t have to remove the tank from the mounted position. Switch on the test button to begin monitoring from the display.
