White Wines

White wine is a light and refreshing adult beverage and most serve it with meals that include fish or chicken entrees. White wines also pair well with garden vegetables, and some varieties are even sweet enough to serve during desert courses. With so many different types of white wines to choose from, you can find one or several to complement nearly any dish you want to serve.


Chardonnay wines are more full-bodied than many other types of white wine. They typically have a dry taste with rich citrus flavours. Chardonnay wines fermented in oak barrels often features notes of toasted vanilla or coconut. This wine pairs well with roast chicken or with cheeses, such as feta and gouda.

Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc wines are typically very light with crisp flavours. These wines are very fruity, and many of them contain notes of green apple, lime, passion fruit and peach. The bright fruity notes of Sauvignon Blanc make it a good choice for creating white wine sangrias. Sauvignon Blanc wines go well with summer salads or pan-seared fish fillets.

Pinot Grigio

Pinot Grigio is a somewhat dry wine with semisweet fruity flavours. It typically has notes of pear, lemon, and white nectarine. Some Pinot Grigio wines also have subtle notes of honey and honeysuckle. This wine goes well with lemon-seasoned chicken or fish, as well as soft cheeses and the luxury food, foie gras.


Moscato is one of the sweetest types of white wine available, known for having flavours of peach, nectarine and orange blossom. Moscato pairs well with spicy foods, because the sweetness tends to tame the heat of the spiciness. You can also serve it as a dessert wine. It goes well with dark and milk chocolate, as well as fruit pies or tarts.
