Made by Pioneer for HHB (they also make it for Fostex with a white colored front panel instead of the HHB's purple).
It has a sound of a total flat frequency response, perfect with no coloration what so ever, in other words it doesn't add or subtract anything from the music, and you get to hear details that you never heard before (please don't judge it be the headphone output, since that one can be a bit lacking, rather listen to it with a good amp and speakers).
Features wise it's got all the things that you need, without all the useless crap that you'll never use. there are so many features that I would advise you to get the manual off the internet (it's widely available for free).
So if you like doing things the old fashion way, (recording without a computer) and you can get it for a good enoph price, don't think about it twice and go get it.
And by the way the Pioneer remote controls for CD recorders work with this units since as I said before these are made by Pioneer, I mention this since It's hard for you to find these units with a remote control, but there are plenty (as of this writing) of the Pioneer remotes on eBay.
Better looking then tascam models, also better sounding,. Great CD Recorder!
i picked this over Marantz and Tascam CD Recorder, glad i did. my Tascam Started Skipping, even with NEW Cds.
that pissed me off. trying to enjoy me tunes and wont play a damn song without skipping.
i never had a home cd player ever skip befor owning a tascam.
this one dont skip. it's solid. and great sounding to. i enjoy listening to this cdr-830, thanks HHB!
