    Perfect cup of coffee

This coffee pot is fantastic. For anyone who enjoys fresh ground and brewed coffee, it can't be beat. I use it every day and I enjoy setting it up the night before so I can get up to the smell of fresh coffee. This is the third one I've had. Even with daily use you should get 6 to 8 good years out of one. I'm so glad they are still making it because I wouldn't want to buy any other kind. They have also come down in price unlike most commodities. The first one I bought about 25 years ago was $129.00. If I had too I'd gladly pay that today to get this quality product.

    Here's The Problem

Holds enough water to make 12 measured cups of coffee. Basket holds enough ground coffee to make 4 measured cups of coffee. Forget using the grinder feature. Coffee gets clogged and its a pain to clean. Also the grinder has a clear cap that accumulates moisture, every time the coffee maker is used. Regardless of whether the grinder feature was used. Has to be removed and wiped clean every time. Then re inserted and snapped into place. Every time. Regret this purchase.

  • Versatile and easy to use...makes great tasting coffee

This is at least my 3rd Cuisinart DGB-550BK! I love it. I have not taken this one out of the box as yet, still using the old one.....going on 10 years! But with supplies low, I appreciate having a back-up because the current one is starting to show signs of wear. I like the options: grind or not, 1-4 cups (I use to have a slower brew which produces more dense flavor) and the charcoal filters in the bottom of the water well. Great product.

  • Liked my old one better

The coffee brewed is on the weak side using the same amount of coffee I used in old Cuisinart, not easy to put brewing strainer party back in,doesn't use the size filter the book stated and the fresh grind area is already full of confusion and had to be dried daily..oh yeah and coffee maker won't work if the grinder part is removed...

  • Jet Plane!

I tried this coffee maker for 10 days. I could not get a consistent cup of coffee to save my life. I measured the beans, added the same amount of water, and it was pot luck from there. Some days it would take 7 minutes to brew, others 11-12 minutes. Some days weak, some days like 3 feet down under the Mississippi River. But that's not the worst part. Aside from being difficult to see how much water you were putting in, once it started grinding the beans, it sounded like a jet plane was taking off in my kitchen for 30 seconds.Too many parts to clean, and not easy. Lots of tough spots to reach, and time consuming. I've since replaced with the Breville Grind Control.

  • Pretty solid

This is my 2nd one, so its pretty good. It works well, a bit noisy and the clean up is a little bit of a process. The grinder cup and permanent filter has to be thoroughly washed and coffee grind residue cakes up a bit. Be careful not to let beans fall into water reservoir and remember to cahnge the charcoal filter periodically. On the positive side, the coffee stays hot and the taste is so much better than drip coffee makers. The minor drawbacks are not enough to offset the quality of the coffee taste experience.

  • Carafe review.

We sure needed this. Our original carafe was sadly damaged and leaking. This one looks as if brand new. Thank-you.

  • Stylish and Makes great Coffee

I had one of these machines for a long time and used it daily until one day the power would not stay on, so I decided to purchase another one. Using whole beans, it makes great coffee and with the built in water filter, it tastes even better. Be sure and clean the grinder parts daily otherwise they will become discolored and "gummy" from the coffee oil residue. This is an excellent machine from a great Company and looks good on the counter top.

  • Cuisinart Whack-and-Brew

Not actually a grinder; a spinning blade reduces the beans to powder. Loud. Requires regular cleaning of all components. Makes a great cup of coffee.

  • Awesome coffeemaker!!!

My dad has one and I had to get one. The Absolutely love this machine. Prefect coffee once I figured out the bean to water ratio. Easy to use & clean. I would highly recommend this coffeemaker!!!
