I bought this item because I love Indiana Jones and his life that spans an interesting point in history that I knew little about. This set comes with tons of documentaries that are well done and are packed with historical information. One of the bad things about this set is that there is only one episode of Young Indy per disc. They are movie-length episodes, however. The episodes have very good production values and are themselves very historically accurate. Some episodes drag on a bit, and I sometimes think they could have accomplished telling the story in less time. All in all, these episodes help to fill in a part of Indy's life that is interesting and builds a good backstory for the character. The material packed into this set is awesome, especially if you are interested in World War I (The Great War).Read full review
This series is one to keep on your shelf! Sheer entertainment value of fun scripts, seeing the world and learning about culture and the world during the early 1900s. Volume 2 is a favorite because of the war portrayal as nowadays WW1/the Great War is relatively forgotten in our education and history remembrances. Great buy!

Bought the set specifically for the Indie at War DVD! Fantastic. I've used it in a college class to show how bad it was on the Somme in WW 1.

Indiana Jones The Wars Years Is an Amazing Collection which follows Young Indy thru World War 1 and his exploits in the Military. They have not released this Collection in Blue Ray but it is Hard to tell the Difference. George Lucas does a fine job with HQ Cameras where the film does a fine job in the absence of Blue Ray. Maybe one Day. Young Indy adventures goes from Europe to Africa where he meets key real Historical Figures from the times. Winston Churchill, Mata Hari, Charles De Gaulle , Albert Schweitzer. Many famous people before they reach there importance in Life. There are 3 sets in this Collections. I love how famous people come in to his life in each episode and how they exit. In one episode it is 1915, he meets a young Lieutenant George Patton in Mexico looking for a Mexican bandit. This I love I hate to say is more fun than the movies. This is Real Indiana Jones......You won't be dissappointed.Read full review

These DVD's will be a Christmas gift for my son; and in my opinion the price was set at a good cost. We were expecting them to arrive at an earlier date; but that's fine, because Christmas is still a couple of weeks away. He will love receiving this DVD set for Christmas, and I know he will enjoy watching them. Thanks

At the time of this review, I am 44 years old. Several years ago, I got my daughter (she's 14) into the whole "Indiana Jones" trilogy of major motion pictures. When all was said and done, she hungered for more. The recent release of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" helped but it only quenched her thirst for a short time. With that we went out and purchased a couple of Indiana Jones games for our game console at home. This helped as well. However, nothing has satisfied her as much as finding out how Indy came to be the man he is today as this series. It is both educational and entertaining (and it keeps her from getting interested in boys). Any fan of Indy will surely enjoy the full length feature films collected here.
Love the continuing story line, very enjoyable, each adventure is like a small movie, locations and sets are beautiful. the casting for the characters is perfect.

Outstanding production values in this 1992 made-for-TV serial in 10 DVDs. This is now supplemented with at least 3 approximately 30 minute historical documentary video vignettes that are worth the price of the program by themselves. These provide further background information regarding the various characters that Indy encounters in his World War I exploits-Ernest Hemingway, Mata Hari, Lowell Thomas, Albert Schweitzer, T.E. Lawrence (of Arabia), the Red Baron, French Foreign Legion etc. Although the Indy adventures are typical India Jones exaggerated and somewhat adolescent theater, they never deviate far from historical accuracy. In short, these videos are a great introduction to early 20th century history for young students who will quickly be captivated by Indy's exploits.
Excellent film, exciting, great historical story.
