Product works well. It was just as shown in the pictures. Exterior scratches weren't too bad. The memory card that came with the system also works well and had no corrupted data or issues. It also arrived quickly.

I have been keeping my eyes out for a PS2 for some time; I already have a Wii and have no desire to play any more games on other platforms, but the PS2 offers a great price and DVD playback abilities as well as the capability to revisit some old and very classic games. I was delighted to find one of the more uncommon slim silver editions, and this particular PS2 was an amazing value. I also liked how it came with the power adapter and display cables, since many EBay purchases would leave these components out and sell them separately. The console itself was well-used (it was listed as used in the description, but I was still a little surprised when I saw how worn it was). Also, the provided controller did not work, and the PS2's parental control feature does not function properly. None of these drawbacks are game-killers, though--it's easy to buy a new controller, and it's only minor hassle to reset parental controls every time you want to watch an 'R' rated movie--and I'm very happy with the purchase. In summary, I have a great-looking DVD player that will also let me revisit some classic games at a very affordable price.Read full review
I just could not get my eyes off the silver PS2! The color is just amazing and this rare edition isn't sold anywhere in stores anymore. I first thought I was going to buy a new black PS2 slim, but I decided that I'd rather have a rare edition for a cheap price, even though it's used. It works great like a new one. However, I have had some previous problems with the black slim ps2 (I know it has nothing to do with the color). When ps2's just came out, I bought one and it broke down two years later right when the warranty expired. I was very disappointed. Sadly, I had to work with the way my ps2 was by taping it and not moving it and then it worked fine. Even the controller outlet didn't work well: it got disconnected randomly while I was playing a game. Therefore, I decided to buy a used or refurbished one (There have been so many cases of new PS2's breaking down including mine)and it works great. There are 2 scratches and the reminisce of a skin that was there, but I scraped off that sticky part, and added my own silver chrome skin. The PS2 functions just as a new one, possibly even better. I expect that it will last for 6 years or more, hopefully. Memory card outlet, Cd reader, and controller output all work great (unlike my other new PS2). As you can see I'm very satisfied, but the main thing about buying a PS2 is always making sure it has durability. I was simply lucky to have a silver PS2 that works great as well.Read full review
Sony's PlayStation line of video game consoles has always been a winner in my eyes. I obtained my PlayStation 2 early on in its release. Years later, I saw that they had made a slim version of the system. The design looked nice, but I had never seen in it person. I never thought I'd have need for buying one either. That is, until now. Once again, as far as the design goes it is done very well. Form and function go hand and hand. One advantage to the new model is that the lens is accessible from the top. The very reason I bought this newer one is because my older one was having problems reading one certain disc, and I couldn't access the lens to try to clean it. I could not send it in for service, since it is a Japanese system and I am in the North America, and I dared not open it up myself to attempt repairing it. Hopefully I'll never have to worry about this again with the new model, but if I suspect the lens to be a problem in years to come, I can more easily do something about it. The system takes up a lot less space, period. I was really amazed by the size when I opened the package; it is much smaller than I thought. It is very lightweight as well. This means that wherever you sit it, you need to be sure that it will not be prone to falling or getting stepped on, as I can only imagine how fragile it must be. At the same time, it means that it is more portable (with great care of course) and can fit in more easily into your entertainment environment. There are some features that are gone, most notably the expansion bay. This means that one cannot use the internal hard disk drive. However, I don't know many people that mind this. Also, a port for internet connection is directly on the body of the unit now. All in all I think that Sony has done well with the Playstation 2 Slim. I have yet to experience any problems with it. And hopefully, I never will.Read full review

packs a powerful punch in a compact size. this is a very small console. perfect for those who want a game console that has the versatality of a dvd player and multi-purpose entertainment. it's much smaller than most any dvd player out on the market, i would recommend it for travel; or for a back up to your more expensive consoles/dvd players. wireless controllers make operating the system a snap and act like a remote control for your dvd needs. great pricing and durability. perfect for travel.
If you're in the market for a video game system, you cannot really go wrong with the PlayStation 2. I would highly recommend anyone looking to pick up a PS2 to get the model 2 slim version. The model one other than being bulky which will take up more space on your entertainment unit (although I personally think it looks slightly more appealing than the model 2 slim) and the disc tray tends to stop working after a period of time, or so I've heard. Also, the first wave of PS2 games had a bluish/purple underside, these discs the model one has trouble reading I've read as well. The model 2 slim which I've bought here, just has a disc top that flips up, so less moving parts=less likelihood anything will break over time. The only issue I've read about the model 2 slim having is that in extended gameplay sessions, it tends to overheat. I've personally never come across this myself and have played the model 2 slim for hours on end... As far as color goes it doesn't really matter, but I personally think the silver looks pretty slick... As far as games go I think the PS2 has the biggest library of games over any other console or handheld, so you can't go wrong there. Quite a variety. And some of the greatest games graced the PS2 such as God of War 1 & 2, Black, Bully, Grand Theft Auto 1-3, Mister Mosquito, Resident Evil 4, the Burnout series, etc etc... There are also many great RPG's available on the PS2 if that's your thing (like the Persona series). You just cannot go wrong, if you can find a PS2 slim in good condition that works between $70-$100, I'd say it's well worth the value and to go for it. It's also great because the PS2 is backwards compatible with PS1 games which ever expands the already huge library of games you'll be capable to enjoy. There are light guns also available for the PS2 but please keep in mind these games will only work on a CRT television (tube TV); you should really play this system on a CRT anyway as it was made to be displayed on those kinds of TV's and will looks better than on the newer HD flat screens. Also, if you're looking for a very nice wireless controller for the PS2, I highly recommend the Logitech action controller. Not only is it wireless, but it feels a lot better in my hands than the standard PS2 controller, which isn't absolutely horrible in itself either... I think the PS2 happens to be the best selling console of all time too, not that that necessarily matters but just an interesting fact. So yeah, I definitely think this console is well worth the money and value!Read full review
When the package arrive and I opened the box, I immediately felt like I opened a Christmas gift from 2008. I plugged in the PS2 and that sound, that amazing starting screen sound felt so nostalgic. Thank you for this product I appreciate the wireless controller aswell!

Bought this system to get games that are similiar to ones i used to play on the pc with Windows 98. An example would be Star Wars Racers Revenge. The unit performed without missing a beat. No complaints at all. I just am an old pc gamer and sold the unit bought an old pc with Windows 98 installed just to play those old games. The computer tech who did this for me was delighted to swap this Windows 98 system for the Playstation 2 for his grandkids. And they set it up quickly and loved it! All is well now!
