This Canon EF 28-millimeter to 80-millimeter F/3.5-5.6 USM V lens can help you capture images accurately and quickly.This zoom lens has a full-frame format that's designed to capture the whole image in stunning quality. It's compatible with 35-millimeter SLR. It was made in Japan and originally released by Canon in 1991. These lenses are fully compatible with both the Canon EF and EF-S mounts. It can be used with EOS film and DSLR cameras. No matter which Canon camera you use it with, the built-in focus motor ensures ultra-quiet operation whenever employing autofocus. The minimum focusing distance for these lenses is set to .5 meters. This allows you to take close-ups that are clear and crisp in quality.If you wish to combine this EF 28-80-millimeter USM version with a filter, it's compatible with 58-millimeter thread sizes. Installing the filter is done simply by screwing it on, so you can quickly complete and move on. This particular zoom lens weighs under a pound, making it very portable and easy to carry with your SLR. The mount consists of a durable and long-lasting metal. It comes in a solid black styling with easy-to-read white and gold lettering. Even for beginners, the features on this model are spelled out in a manner that's easy to understand. With a 28-80-millimeter focal length, you're provided with a relatively wide zoom range. The zoom ratio is set to 2.85x, giving you full control over what types of photos you wish to create.This standard 80-millimeter system consists of five diaphragm blades, allowing for a pleasing bokeh effect with each photo you take. This particular model of lenses measures at 6.6 inches by 6.2 inches by 5.9 inches, so it can easily fit into a bag when not in use. This USM V model was crafted to reduce the amount of distortions that can affect image quality. This includes everything from chromatic aberration to flare. In fact, a separate flare-cut movable diaphragm is included in the construction of this system.The equipped ultrasonic focus drive allows for high speed use of the auto-focusing feature. Depending on your exact magnification when snapping a photo, you're provided with a range of viewing angles. At closer zooms, your viewing angle decreases for a more focused image. The angle of view with this device ranges from 30.2 degrees to a wide 75.3 degrees. The magnification is controlled by an external and easy-to-use ring.

    Canon EF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 V USM

    I have always been a big fan of Canons 50mm prime lens, however this 28-80mm has made me wonder what all the fuss was about. It is without doubt the best value for money lens available today. This little compact zoom lens takes the sharpest images I have ever seen short of spending the thick end of £1000 on a L series lens. This lens is almost always glued to the end of my Canon 1DS MK2, couple it with a EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM and that is all the kit you will ever need.
