    Cannot recommend this enough!

    This is just what I was looking for - such a pity it has been discontinued in Europe as I definitely see a market for those who prefer to own their music rather than stream. This clever little box makes crappy MP3s sound better and Hi-Res FLAC files sound incredibly detailed. The user interface is very powerful and has some amazing features. I have a full stereo set up (DC Player/Turntable?Cassette/*-Track) and this is a brilliant addition to be able to listen to my 'digital only' music through my higher-quality stereo speakers (rather than through the computer) Highly recommend this product - it's pricey but definitely an investment piece of kit.

    Audiophile quality in the digital age.

    Beautiful piece of equipment. Metal chassis, proper weighted dials. Very easy to import lossless files into the player and easy to play. Connected unit directly to set of Klipsch speaker and it sounds fantastic. If you want to integrate your music directly into your hi fi and get the highest quality this is the unit to get. Intuitive interface. I was playing music within 5 minutes of un-boxing. (it has some sample files already on it).

    An excellent product, but...

    Everything was as described. Unit is very solid. If you have allot of digital music files, patience are in order. I found dragging and dropping files was more efficient then auto transfer in the HAP transfer application. It took about a week to complete the full transfer of about 45,000 songs. Playback of AAC and MP3 formats sound great. Here is the only negative thing I can say about the unit. The gapless feature does not work on AAC and MP3 files. Live recordings are not fluid. I can't understand why this has not been addressed since this technology has been around for a few years now. This seems like a huge oversight by Sony.

    Sony beats HEOS

    So far, so good. I bought a Marantz stereo with HEOS thinking it would allow me to do away with my 400 disc CD changer. NOPE! HEOS is junk. It cannot play from a specific folder on my media server. But, Sony has me covered. I transferred all of my CD's to the HAP's built in 500 GB hard drive and BAM there is all my music ready to go. Plus I can play from an individual folder allowing me to separate FLAC from MP3 files. As a final note, be prepared to wait several days to transfer large amounts of music. I had to move about 300 gigs and it took about 2 days over a wired network. A small price to pay for a top notch unit that works as it should!

    AMAZING SOUND!

    This device sounds amazing! I've paired it with SONY HD speakers and it's a perfect match! DOwnloads are slow, but that's what you've get with uncompessed music files. Very happy that I have it!
