    Load DD-WRT.

No clue how this modem works without DD-WRT. Piece of cake getting DD-WRT once you get to its web interface, no swinging a dead chicken five times (/sarcasm). I bought it because -it has green LEDs instead of blue, - has 8 LAN ports instead of 4, - has wireless N, - and you can put DD-WRT on it. Two biggest downsides are its not AC and its 100 Mbps LAN, not 1Gbps. Neither has been an issue for me. You can read up on the advantages and disadvantages of DD-WRT, but one I have not seen is its the same interface for three different routers (WRT54GL, Asus RT-N16, and this) , sort of like using a Windows PC.

    Not of any value!

I bought a second one after a bad experience with the first one. This just shows that when you shop on price, you will get a lot of useless products. Had to reset both units almost every time after turning off my computer. First one went in the trash and will be followed by the second one. Back to Netgear!

  • Best 8-port Wireless Router in existence

Once you install the DD-WRT firmware, this is a rock-solid router. With the factory firmware, it would drop signal constantly. I had five (5) devices that I needed to wire into my router, but only four (4) ports on virtually every router on the market. This router, the DIR-632, is so good, I bought a second one when lightning struck the home and fried the WAN port of my first one. I'm thinking about buying a third one so I can have a backup.

  • Still a great router

Virtual Server very intuitive and easy to configure. Eight private ports is very helpful. List of all connections, not just DHCP.

  • D-Link Router

Never got to use this item as manufacturer will not activate the router unless I pay them $45. As this was not previously disclosed, I chose to return the item. I have never heard of a supplier not supporting their brand new product. At least for 30-90 days. If it isn't a "turn key" acquisition, I am not interested.

  • Great ... for a NON-Gagabit router.

Super easy to set-up. If your NOT geared for gigabit speeds, this is your baby!

  • The wireless and Ethernet cable A plus

Excellent working condition, i will recommend to a friend, the wireless works as explain and the line wire works also.

  • Did not know about DD-WRT

I did not know anything about DD-WRT updated software. The installer said the DD-WRT update is a great advantage for this item. Works well where 8 RJ45 jacks are required and wireless is needed too. We purchased 2 of these

  • Beware this router

Product did work initially. But as soon as the firmware was updated, it turned into a brick. I could not get it working again. Went in the trash.
