  • recommended reading for all narrowboat owners.

I purchased the book because I am a member of a consortium that owns a narrowboat in need of repair. The engineer amongst us responsible for repairs is known as the "oracle' for his opinions that repairs should be done a certain way at a certain time which never seems to arrive. We can now deal with the procrastination by referring to this excellent book that sets out clear guidance on how to address the many tasks owners need to address to keep their craft in tip top condition. This book is written for the non technical amongst us thereby making easy reading whilst imparting words of wisdom.

  • Ideal for a newcomer to Narrow Boats.

Bought this early copy for a friend who has just bought her first narrow boat. It covers just about everything from initial build to all interior fittings. It goes into just enough detail to help you understand how things work, without baffling you with to much detail. It's an easy read, and ideal for a newcomer to narrow boats.
