"Will this work with my Manjaro (Arch) Linux XPS 15 laptop? Surely not..."
Bought this baby after sick to death of plugging in all my peripherals on my desk. On paper, the Dell WD15 is a perfect all rounder, with most of the features one would expect on an external dock. For me, I had the low expectation that it would not work on my Linux formatted XPS 15 (2016) laptop. Well was I surprised to find it works spectacularly connecting my Logitech G502 mouse, Logitech 430 headset, 4TB HP MyBook, and VGA Samsung screen with one fell connection!

Dell missed the mark with this one. Don't expect to reliably use a keyboard and mouse via this dock.
This Dell product is substandard. Keyboard and Mice when connected via the dock exhibit erratic behaviour to the point where its so frustrating there is no choice but to plug them directly into the laptop. Check the Dell support forums for more information as this appears to be a common issue with these Docks and similar models, there are alleged ways to mitigate the issue which I'm yet to try. e.g. change laptop bios settings such as the C state and Thunderbolt settings. The screen also appears a little blurry when connected.

Good dock but struggles with more than two usb peripherals attached.
The dock is a sleek, compact unit, easy to setup with planty of connections. Worked first go out of the box for me, however kept momentarily disconnecting at regular intervals until I detatched my keyboard. This was particularly frustrating, as it loses keystrokes while it's happening. Observing this mlimitation, the dock works well, even recharges my laptop.

Compact with plenty of ports
Great little piece of equipment. Hassle free connections bundled with all essential ports. Converts my powerful laptop to a easy to use desktop with my large monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse.
Good dock for USB-C Displayport computers.
This dock supports USB-C USB PD (Charges your laptop) DisplayPort over USB-C This means, if you computer doesn't support Thunderbolt, but does have DisplayPort over USB-C, this is the dock for you. Just make sure to update the firmware. Works flawlessly in Linux and Windows on an Acer Spin 5, so it's not locked to Dell or limited by drivers.
