This is a really cute movie about a teenager, Charlie Dunlap (Josh Charles), living in central California. He has had a fascination with traffic and freeway gridlock since he was a little boy. He has followed the broadcasts of his hero "Eye in the Sky Guy" Alan Davenport (John Goodman), on the radio for years in many different markets, and he can't wait to be old enough to go work with him. Charlie is in high school and his girlfriend is named Amy (Anne Heche). Upon graduating, she goes off to college. Charlie travels to LA to go to school and winds up living in an apartment building next to a freeway. He is in Hog Heaven. His crazy landlady is a nut case, and he has a wild fling with her. He finally gets a chance to interview for a job with his hero, Alan Davenport, who turns out to be ... Lots of calls from happy listeners come in, and Davenport repays him by firing him. Amy gets a dance contract in Paris, and is gone again. Charlie follows and becomes the "Eye Guy in the Sky" in Paris. This is an enjoyable movie.

Pie in the Sky -- a smile
Although this isn't a great movie, what it does have is some original ideas, great dialog and heart. A friend of mine called it "a glorious mess," but admited it was worth watching. Young Charlie Dunlap is obsessed with traffic and his hero and idol is a certain Metro Traffic guy (John Goodman). The only distraction is the lovely Amy (Anne Heche) -- oh and the landlady (Christine Lahti). If you can find it, rent it.Although this isn't a great movie, what it does have is some original ideas, great dialog and heart. A friend of mine called it "a glorious mess," but admited it was worth watching. Young Charlie Dunlap is obsessed with traffic and his hero and idol is a certain Metro Traffic guy (John Goodman). I bought the movie because I saw it late night on WGN and though it was a fairly good movie. I am satisfied with the price the seller sold me the movie for. A lot of movies u cannot find at Wal-Mart, so it's good to be able to shop online. I'm not typically into any romantic movies, but I really enjoyed this one. I guess because it reminded me of myself and a woman I dearly love and the romance and passion we shared. I would recommend Pie in the Sky to other people.
