I played the original Rogue Squadron on Nintendo 64 for years but missed this Gamecube sequel when it was first released. Love It! A must have for retro-gamers who enjoy space fighting games of that era. I was skeptical at first that this used game did not come with original packaging, but it appears to have been well cared for, in excellent condition, and at a great price. Quite pleased with this purchase.

I have been stuck on the 3rd mission as it is timed which it does not tell you nor does it give you any direction on what to take out. Otherwise the game itself is fun but aggravating as well.

This game looks very nice for a Gamecube game although it ends rather quickly. This game is exactly what most people wanted from the first Rogue Squadron on the N64 and creates a much wider battlefield to play in. But this leads to another problem. Without the targeting computer (which if you use too much you cant get any medals) its a little too difficult to spot a dark grey tie fighter flying around in space. And the targeting proton torpedoes make it almost impossible to hit structures. Yet aside from these difficulties, this is a well made game that can bring much enjoyment to many people, just don't pay more than $25 bucks for it...ever.
This game is top-notch quality. Rogue Leader gives you the genuine sensation of what it could have been like for a Star Wars pilot, and pulls no punches for challenge and skill. A couple of control quibbles, and some objectives are head-scratchers at first, but they are minor compared the high quality entertainment found in this flight combat sim. Truly ahead of its time!

Star Wars Rogue Squadron II is a very excellent game for the Nintendo Gamecube or Wii consoles. After completing missions, some which may take multiple tires to complete, there are various requirements for medals. After completing the game, which is fairly short, there are a few other hidden levels and features that can be unlocked by replaying levels without gold medals, gold medals are a real challenge to acquire. There are also hidden upgrades in the levels, one downside of this is they are hidden extremely well and often found by luck. (or the internet)
Rogue Leader is easily one of the best looking games on the GameCube, Factor 5 was able to bring the Star Wars universe to life with extremely impressive graphics and immersive sound. The gameplay is fun and addicting, not too much hand-holding but also not just throwing you off on the deep end. A must-own game for any GameCube owner.

The game itself is fun and a joy to play. Great for any fan who loves Star Wars dogfights. For as old as it is, the game is a blast and good nostalgia for someone who has grown up playing Star Wars video games.

What can I add to one of the most highly rated Star Wars games ever? I played this game years ago on a friend's Gamecube, and wished I had owned it. Well, we finally got a Wii and when I read you could play Gamecube games, I got my hands on this. I LOVE IT! If you get disoriented easily, it might be too tough. The 3-axis space battles can boggle the mind but if you love Star Wars and wondered what it would be like to be in their world, go for it! I had to buy a Gamecube hand controller (easily and cheaply available on eBay) and I also found out you need a Gamecube memory card (also available here) to save games. The Wii operates in "Gamecube" mode, meaning the Wii controllers do not work and the Wii memory will not work for Gamecube games. You do have to select the game from the Wii home page with the Wii controller, but once the game starts, it's the Gamecube controller all the way. I need a gamecube controller extender cable to sit further back. Another option is getting the Wavebird wireless Gamecube controller (available on...you guessed it! Here.) That's the only drawback. You can't use the Wii wireless controllers. With the company Factor 5 out of business now, there's little hope for a Wii release of this game. But if Darth Vader can redeem himself by tossing the Emperor down the plasma garbage tube, anything can happen, I guess!!Read full review
I've had this game for about a month now. I'm no avid hardcore gamer, I'd say I only play a couple hours a week. But this game is great! You can try your way straight through each level and advance through the game just fine. Every level has its own exciting objectives that you have to manuver your way through to complete them. But the best part is the fact that you are awarded medals based on your in mission performance. This means that even tho you've played the level once and gotten through it, you can re-play it over and over again in order to gain a better medal for your gameplay (and ultimately use of any of your favorite crafts... x-wing, millenium falcon, tie fighter... on any level you choose). Even tho you're playing the same mission it keeps you gripped by the same amount of fun and excitment as the first time you played, only this time its a bit more difficult because your trying to shoot down all those tie fighters with 1 shot accuracy. Again, this is a great game that will have you pushing your way through just to see the next level while at the same time offering an outstanding re-play value that isnt found in most games. Goodluck, and use the force.Read full review
